San Martino di Castrozza

San Martino di Castrozza

The landscape of the Dolomites, the elegance and liveliness of a first class skiing destination, the beauty of ancient historical town centres, a long-time radicated  welcoming tradition, the presence of Paneveggio Natural Park, modern accommodations: all these elements make San Martino di Castrozza the ideal destination for high-quality holidays, in summer and winter.

The typical mountain-style town centre rises at an altitude of 1500 meters, and it is nestled in a green hollow just at the feet of the San Martino Group in a sunny position, surrounded by a deep conifer wood crossed by many paths and itineraries. The village preserves only few traces of the ancient medieval monastery that used to provide accommodation to pilgrims and travellers.

During the winter, the holiday in San Martino di Castrozza offers the unique emotions of skiing and snow on Dolomites, in the amazing landscape where to experience great summer trails and hikes, paths to walk or ride on a bike or on a horse; in every season the village offers the possibility to go shopping, have fun in typical pubs and bars, or participate in cosmopolitan and lively events, just like some concerts and festivals down the Valley, just 20 minutes far by car. Near the town centre there are the lifting facilities (easily reachable thanks to the skibus service) that give access to the 45 km of runs and slopes of the Carosello delle Malghe and the area of Colverde. Always at the border of the town, on the wide field of Pra’ delle Nasse, you can find some cross country skiing trails and networks.
